Smith & Winfield were recently awarded the painting contract to Empangeni Mall, which is undergoing a massive upgrade and face lift that will breathe new life into the centre and the area.
The 48 000m2 centre was built in 1972 and the R32 million upgrade involves perimeter security fencing, refurbishment of the toilets, reconfiguring and retiling of the mall as well as the complete repainting internally and externally.
The design by architect Grant Bezuidenhout of WPL Architects incorporates the use of 16 different colour combinations on the various elevations and will completely transform the existing building.
Our contracts manager Smith & Winfield Lyle Millar leads a team of experienced painters headed by Alifas Mgabiseni and Mbongeni Mjadu and great progress has been made by them since the end of lockdown.
